How to Get Mystery Gifts in Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Codes & Full List
If you've spent any time playing Pokémon, you probably know that "Mystery Gifts" are one of the best ways to score free stuff — and Pokémon Legends: Z-A keeps the tradition alive. Whether it's a rare Mega Stone, a limited outfit, or even a special event Pokémon, these little bonuses can make your journey through Lumiose City a bit more exciting.
Here's how the system works this time around, and how you can claim every available gift before it disappears.
What Exactly Are Mystery Gifts?
Mystery Gifts are basically free downloads from Pokémon's official servers. They're usually time-limited and tied to things like launch promos, special events, or Pokémon Company campaigns.
You might get:
An exclusive Pokémon (think: a Shiny starter or Mega-ready Lucario)
Event outfits like the Holo-X and Holo-Y clothing sets
Mega Stones, Poké Balls, or evolution items you can't find early in the game
So yeah — they're absolutely worth checking.

How to Get Mystery Gifts in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Like in past Pokémon games, it'll take roughly an hour of gameplay before you can access the Mystery Gift feature in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The option becomes available after completing Main Mission 3 and unlocking online functionality. Once it's accessible, follow these steps to claim your gifts:
Press X to open the main menu.
Select "Link Play."
Choose "Mystery Gift."
Select "Get via Internet."
Pick the Mystery Gift you want to receive.
If your gift requires a serial code, the process is mostly the same. After selecting "Mystery Gift" under "Link Play," do the following:
Choose "Get with Code/Password."
Enter your serial code.
Confirm and download the gift.
Players who purchased Pokémon Legends: Z-A digitally will also receive a bonus Mystery Gift: a serial code for 100 Poké Balls, perfect for the early stages of the game. These codes are valid until March 10, 2026.
Additionally, anyone who purchases the Mega Dimension DLC by February 28, 2026 will receive a Luxurious Poké Ball Set as a Mystery Gift, also valid until March 10, 2026.
Note: Each Mystery Gift can only be claimed once per save file. Once you've received a particular gift, it can't be redeemed again — even if you re-enter the same code.
