Two Waves of DLC Content

The Mega Dimension DLC is split into two major updates:

Wave 1 – October 16, 2025: Holo-X and Holo-Y outfits are already available in-game.

Wave 2 – February 28, 2026: The main story expansion, new zones, and officially confirmed Mega Evolutions arrive.

Wave 1 focuses on fashion, while Wave 2 introduces story missions, dimensional rifts, and a series of new and returning Mega Pokémon.

Wave 1 – Futuristic Holo Outfits

The Holo-X and Holo-Y outfits light up Lumiose City's neon skyline. Inspired by Z-A's high-tech theme, these holographic designs are available immediately in-game. While they don't affect gameplay, they let Trainers explore Lumiose in style.

Wave 2 – New Storyline and Mega Evolutions

The second wave of the DLC (coming February 28, 2026) expands Pokémon Legends: Z-A with new story quests, battles, and exploration zones. For a full guide on the base game and tips to prepare for the Mega Dimension, check out our Pokémon Legends: Z-A Game Guide.

After completing the main game, mysterious spatial distortions will appear above Lumiose City. Within these rifts, Trainers will encounter new boss fights, legendary Pokémon, and the return of Mega Evolution.

At the center of this adventure are Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, the only officially confirmed new Mega forms so far:

Mega Raichu X – Uses electromagnetism to manipulate metal and energy fields.

Mega Raichu Y – Unleashes amplified lightning strikes at incredible speed.

Each requires a unique Mega Stone, obtainable within the DLC's dimensional rifts.

Hoopa and Dimensional Rifts

The Mythical Pokémon Hoopa plays a pivotal role in the DLC. Using its ring portals, Hoopa opens gateways connecting alternate dimensions. These rifts allow Trainers to encounter returning Pokémon and discover hidden Mega forms.

Hoopa's spatial powers are tied to the resurgence of Mega Evolution, and Trainers must stabilize these rifts through intense battles to uncover the full story.

Rumored Pokémon (Leaks)

In addition to the confirmed Mega Raichu forms, leaks and datamines suggest a wide range of potential new Mega Evolutions and returning Pokémon may appear in the dimensional rifts.

Potential New Mega Evolutions (Leak/Unconfirmed):

Raichu, Chimecho, Absol, Staraptor, Garchomp, Heatran, Darkrai, Golurk, Male/Female Meowstic, Crabominable, Golisopod, Magearna (current and historical colors), Zeraora, Scovillain, Glimmora, Tatsugiri (curled, drooping, and stretched forms), Baxcalibur.
