Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 brings new costumed Pokémon, Trick-or-Treat surprises, Candy bonuses, and the debut of Shiny Greavard. The event runs in two parts, with different wild encounters and rewards to explore.

Here’s what to know about the event dates, where to find featured Pokémon, which bonuses are worth prioritizing, and whether the GO Pass Deluxe rewards are worth considering.

Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 Event Dates

Event Dates and Times
Halloween Part I October 27, 10:00 a.m. – November 1, 10:00 a.m. local time

Both event parts feature Halloween-themed Pokémon and decorated PokéStops and Gyms. However, some encounters and bonuses are only available during specific dates, so check the relevant event window before planning your activities.

Halloween Part I: New Costumes and Trick-or-Treat Surprises

Part I introduces three costumed Pokémon:

Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet

Zubat wearing a top hat

Sinistea wearing a bow

If you’re lucky, you may encounter their Shiny forms.

How Trick-or-Treat Surprises Work

During the event, interacting with Trick-or-Treat surprises on the map can lead to event-themed Pokémon encounters or Candy rewards. Possible rewards include Pikachu Candy, Zubat Candy, Sinistea Candy, and, if you’re lucky, Rare Candy.

These surprises give you another reason to explore the map during the event. Check them as you play rather than relying only on regular wild encounters.

Wild Encounters and Raids

Part I’s featured wild encounters include Zubat wearing a top hat, Duskull, and Piplup wearing its Halloween Mischief costume. Drifblim wearing its Halloween Mischief costume may also appear.

One-star Raids feature Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet and Sinistea wearing a bow. Shiny encounters may be possible where specified by the event.

Where to Find Halloween Pokémon

Use this quick reference to decide which event activities to prioritize.

Pokémon or Feature Where to Look
Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet One-star Raids and Trick-or-Treat event encounters
Zubat wearing a top hat Part I wild encounters and Trick-or-Treat surprises
Sinistea wearing a bow One-star Raids and Trick-or-Treat event encounters
Shiny Greavard Part II wild encounters, Field Research, and GO Pass rewards
Rowlet wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume Part II wild encounters
Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume Possible Part II wild encounter

Availability can vary by encounter source, and not every featured Pokémon is guaranteed to appear. If you’re targeting a specific costume or Shiny Pokémon, focus on the activities that feature it and check the event details in-game.

Halloween GO Pass: Candy Bonuses and Rewards

The free GO Pass includes two notable milestones:

Rank 10: 2× Candy from catching Pokémon.

Rank 20: 2× Stardust from catching Pokémon.

GO Pass Deluxe increases these bonuses to 3× at the same ranks. Deluxe also offers additional rewards, including extra Pokémon encounters, avatar items, Rare Candy XL, and Premium Battle Passes.

Is GO Pass Deluxe Worth It?

The free GO Pass offers useful Candy and Stardust bonuses, while GO Pass Deluxe adds extra encounters, items, and higher bonuses. It costs $7.99, or $9.99 with 10 additional ranks (regional prices may vary).

If you mainly want to catch event Pokémon, the free pass may be enough. The GO Pass ends November 5 at 8:00 p.m. local time, but rewards can be claimed until November 7 at 8:00 p.m.

Halloween Part II: Shiny Greavard and Mega Sableye

Part II runs from November 1 at 10:00 a.m. to November 5 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Shiny Greavard Debuts

Shiny Greavard makes its Pokémon GO debut during Part II. You can look for Greavard in wild encounters, Field Research, and GO Pass rewards.

Other featured wild encounters include Litwick and Rowlet wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume. Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume may also appear.

If Shiny Greavard is your main target, make time for Part II and check its available encounter sources instead of spending the entire event focused on Part I’s costumes.

Mega Sableye Reaches Super Max Level

Mega Sableye receives a Super Max Level upgrade. To unlock it, first raise Sableye to its third Mega Level Max, then use Mega Energy to power it up to Super Max Level.

While Mega-Evolved, Sableye can use the additional Charged Attack Night Shade+. Its listed power is 55 in Trainer Battles and 160 in Raid Battles, with attack power increasing according to Mega Level.

Is Mega Sableye Worth the Investment?

Mega Sableye is worth considering if you already use Sableye or want to work toward its new progression milestone. However, reaching Super Max Level requires prior Mega Level progression and Mega Energy, so it may not be the best immediate priority for every player.

If you’re mainly interested in the new Shiny Pokémon or costumed encounters, focus on those limited-time opportunities first. You can decide whether to invest in Mega Sableye based on your existing progress and available resources.

Other Halloween Features

The event also includes several cosmetic and atmospheric additions:

  • Avatar items: The Gothic Skirt Set, Gothic Shorts Set, Gothic Socks, and Gothic Boots are available in the shop during the event and remain available afterward.
  • Stickers: Halloween-themed stickers can be obtained from PokéStops, Gifts, and the in-game shop.
  • Lavender Town music: A remix plays nightly during the event.
  • Halloween decorations: PokéStops, Gyms, and event encounters receive seasonal touches during both parts.

These features are optional extras, so prioritize Pokémon encounters and event rewards first if your playtime is limited.

How to Prepare for Pokémon GO Halloween 2026

A little planning can help you get more out of both event parts.

  1. Set your priorities. Decide whether you’re mainly hunting costumed Pokémon, Shiny Greavard, Candy, or Mega Sableye progression.
  2. Check the dates. Part I ends on November 1 at 10:00 a.m. local time, when Part II begins. Don’t leave a Part I target until the final day without checking its availability.
  3. Make use of the GO Pass bonuses. If you plan to catch a lot of Pokémon, aim for the Candy and Stardust milestones.
  4. Save resources for your targets. Keep useful items available for encounters and raids instead of spending everything before your priority Pokémon appear.
  5. Claim your GO Pass rewards in time. The final claim deadline is November 7 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Get Ready for Halloween in Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 offers new costumed Pokémon in Part I, the Shiny Greavard debut in Part II, and additional progression for Mega Sableye. For the best use of your time, focus on the encounters you want most, take advantage of the GO Pass bonuses, and check each part’s schedule before it ends.
