Pokémon Legends Z-A – All New Mega Evolutions & Returning Megas
Mega Evolution is officially back in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and this time, we're getting a brand-new batch of Mega Pokémon never seen before. Whether you're a longtime fan of Mega Evolution from Pokémon X & Y or you're just stepping into Kalos for the first time, this is your chance to discover fresh designs, new strategies, and some exciting DLC-exclusive forms.
Below, we've put together a simple guide to all the new Mega Evolutions confirmed so far in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Mega Dragonite
The very first new Mega to be revealed, Mega Dragonite takes inspiration from Dragonair with its jewel-tipped tail and feathered wings. It's a Dragon/Flying-type with boosted power and a kindhearted nature. Don't be fooled though—its powerful aerial attacks can end battles quickly.
Mega Victreebel
Next up is Mega Victreebel, a terrifying new Grass/Poison-type design. Its body swells up like a huge pitcher plant filled with acid, and it bounces around while unleashing deadly Sludge Bombs. Definitely one of the creepiest Megas to date.
Mega Hawlucha
Wrestling fans will love Mega Hawlucha. With golden details on its mask and a wing-like collar, this Fighting/Flying-type Pokémon is flashier and tougher than ever. It uses its strength and confidence to lure opponents into mistakes before finishing them off with Flying Press.
Mega Malamar
Things get sinister with Mega Malamar. Its psychic powers expand to the point where it can rewrite people's personalities. With glowing rainbow-colored tentacles, this Dark/Psychic-type uses hypnosis and efficiency to control the battlefield—and even its Trainer if it feels like it!
Mega Chesnaught
The Grass-type Kalos starter is getting some serious upgrades. Mega Chesnaught gains extra armor and spikes, plus the ability to transform its shoulder plates into a massive axe-like weapon. It's a true tank with both defensive and offensive power.
Mega Delphox
Elegant but dangerous, Mega Delphox takes on a sorcerer-like look. It floats on burning branches, controls two fiery staves, and can combine its magic into massive fireballs. A Fire/Psychic powerhouse that's perfect for stylish but deadly plays.
Mega Greninja
Stealthy as ever, Mega Greninja becomes a true ninja assassin. It clings to a giant water shuriken and strikes with unmatched speed, overwhelming foes before they can react. If you loved Greninja before, this is the ultimate version.
Mega Raichu X & Mega Raichu Y (DLC)
Available in the Mega Dimension DLC, Raichu finally gets not one but two Mega Evolutions—just like Charizard and Mewtwo.
Mega Raichu X: Uses electromagnetism and its twin lightning tails to float and strike with electrified fists.
Mega Raichu Y: Focuses on quick, decisive battles, channeling huge electric power through its spiky horn-like ears.
Both are Electric-type, but each brings a different style to the battlefield—power vs. speed.
