How to put Pokemon to sleep in Pokemon Legends Arceus
Pokemon Legends Arceus introduces a slew of new mechanics to the tried-and-true Pokemon formula. One of them is specific Pokemon behavior in open-world environments.
One of the rare behaviors Pokemon can exhibit in the world is sleeping. When Pokemon are sleeping, their catch rate is greatly increased, and it's easy for trainers to sneak upon them.
Unfortunately, putting some Pokemon to sleep requires some trial and error from the player. But that's how it's done.
How to put Pokemon to sleep
Unlike other behavior patterns exhibited by Pokemon in Pokemon Legends Arceus, falling asleep is completely random. Thankfully, there is a way for trainers to manipulate this behavior pattern a little. Use these steps for the best chance of finding a sleeping Pokemon:
Go to the area where the Pokemon you want to find is located.
Rest at any camp in a tent, preferably "until noon."
Go to the location of a specific Pokemon until evening into the game.
When you search for sleeping Pokemon, you will need some in-game time, because then they will have a higher chance of sleeping in their spawn area.
How to Catch a Sleeping Pokemon
In fact, finding the sleeping Pokemon is the hardest part of the task. It's a lot easier to catch Pokemon while they're asleep, as long as you know what to do.
When you stumble upon a sleeping Pokemon, they want to make sure your character is crouched by pressing the B button. After crouching down, use the Poke Ball to slowly sneak behind the sleeping Pokemon. There are many different types of Poké Balls, but the heavy ball variant is the most successful.
Once you've selected a heavy ball on the item wheel, lock the sleeping Pokemon with ZR and slowly sneak behind it. Players should be careful not to get too close, as it may wake up the Pokemon. Instead, sneak up to get them within heavy ball throwing range and release ZR. If you feel troublesome or can't wait to get BDSP and Arceus Shiny Pokémon, you can Buy BDSP Pokemon at PKMBuy.
